Job Description

We are seeking a Marketing Specialist to join our dynamic team and be a proactive, creative, self-starter that requires limited guidance but welcomes input. You will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies for our software products and client products. Products can range from cloud-based platforms, to mobile and desktop applications.

As a Marketing Specialist some of your tasks will include most of the digital marketing activities such as: written content creation (copywriting for landing pages/websites, blog posts, articles, social media posts, etc), client product marketing research, social media strategies and advertising, reaching out to opinion leaders, email marketing campaigns and others.

You will be working on several products/projects at the same time, the ability to multi-task will be an important part of this position. The projects will also be quite different from one another as domain, platform, life stage and other specifics and this will require flexibility and the possibility to adapt quickly.


Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience working in marketing and digital marketing 
  • Excellent English speaking and writing skills 
  • Experience copywriting, preferably writing to sell and marketing content creation
  • Experience in lead generation through marketing activities and marketing research
  • Expertise creating and using email campaign software (e.g., MailChimp or SendGrid)
  • Experience planning, creating, and optimizing targeted advertising campaigns using social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn) 
  • Basic understanding of SEO principles 
  • Bachelors Degree or higher 


This is a remote, part-time or full-time position.

About the Role 

Our Digital Strategists work with all departments at Mediacurrent - from UX to design, development, and project management to ensure our websites achieve high value to our clients and their customers. In this role, you'll work closely with our clients to identify growth goals, develop actionable strategies, and report on the progress of each initiative to the client and key stakeholders at Mediacurrent. To be successful in the role, you'll need a good amount of creativity, analytical thinking, superb communication skills, excellent project management skills, and a genuine love of digital. A great sense of humor never hurts either. 


Key Responsibilities 

  • Inspire clients with a vision for their digital strategy and brand across all major digital platforms. 
  • Identify key business challenges and needs and be able to proactively pitch solutions to those challenges to clients and key stakeholders at Mediacurrent. 
  • Develop strong, trusting relationships with project stakeholders by providing leadership and support through all phases of the project. 
  • Partner with a team of solution architects, designers, and project managers to fulfill the business vision and make ideas a reality. 
  • Actively lead Discovery and planning meetings with the Mediacurrent team and client stakeholders. 
  • Develop a digital strategy and targeted multi-channel marketing programs for our clients that help build profitable, long-term relationships. 
  • Map out a content strategy that supports and extends marketing initiatives, both short- and long-term, determining which methods work for the brand and why. Continuous evolvement of strategy is a must. 
  • Create robust Digital Strategy plans that include buyer personas, competitive analyses, editorial style guidelines, user workflows, content inventory and gap analysis, and search optimization plans. 
  • Develop measurable goals and track progress of each initiative using tools such as Google Analytics, Moz, SEMRush, etc. 
  • Actively participate in new business initiatives; create statements of work and client presentations. 
  • Oversee the development of digital content created by the client and earned media (reviews, comments, and other content created by people outside of the business). 
  • Be a thought leader in business and marketing strategy for Drupal by contributing articles, ebooks, and leading workshops on behalf of Mediacurrent. 


Qualifications 

  • 3 - 5 years of full-time experience in digital marketing or digital advertising. 
  • Deep understanding and passion for business development, digital marketing, and creating product experiences. 
  • A self-starter mentality, a strong sense of ownership, and an insatiable appetite for learning. 
  • Strong understanding of modern SEO/SEM practices, Google Analytics, and User Testing Software. 
  • Successful track record of delivering digital programs, products and services. 
  • Exceptional communication skills: written, verbal and presentation. 
  • Strong leadership, managerial and analytical skills; the ability to analyze data and make meaningful recommendations. 
  • Ability to travel for onsite meetings. 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines. 


Extra Awesome Qualifications 

  • Agency and/or Drupal experience. 
  • Certifications in Google Analytics, Hubspot Inbound Marketing, and Scrum Product Owner. 
  • Fan of emojis like Party Parrot.

Qualifications:

  • 2 years’ experience working in a customer success role required; SaaS B2B renewal role preferred
  • Proven track record of securing renewals and mitigating churn
  • Excellent customer service skills and knack for developing strong customer relationships
  • Ability to analyze and derive actionable insights from, and report on data
  • Naturally curious with excellent critical thinking skills
  • Resilient, adaptable, and thrives in a fast-paced environment
