Essential Responsibilities:
· Design, create, update, and deliver documentation for a SaaS applications/platform.
· Organize and write required technical and business material using word processing software per established corporate standards with respect to order, style, terminology, and sequencing.
· Review publications and recommends revisions or changes in approaches, scope, format, test, methods of production and dissemination. Maintain corporate standards for publications.
· Consult with technical team leads and subject matter experts to ensure common understanding of publications and related materials to be produced.
· Develop cataloging systems, and maintains records, files, electronic media and archiving of information for publications in a business unit for corporate references.
· Select or recommend use of layouts, graphics, drawings, tables, exhibits, illustrations, charts, or storyboards to amplify or clarify publications objectives.
· Periodically audit and review publications to determine whether format or content changes/updates are required. Meet with subject matter experts for concurrence as to content changes.
· Remain current on new developments in technical writing, editing, and publishing included technological enhancements which may affect the corporation.
· Assist in preparing material for RFPs, technical seminars and business forums. May be called upon to assist in technical or business presentations in such meetings as business or customer needs require.
Qualifications
· At least 6+ years writing technical documentation for a software development company
· Experience documenting enterprise-class on-demand software
· Exceptional technical writing and editing skills
· Proven ability to write documentation for both non-technical business users and administrators
· Ability to consistently meet deadlines and deliver high-quality materials
· Proven track record of innovation for making online documentation more usable and useful for customers
· Strong experience using XML tools to write single-source documentation for both online help and PDF distribution
· Ability to learn quickly and adjust priorities in a dynamic environment with short release cycles
· Demonstrated ability to adhere to existing styles and processes, and contribute towards improving them as necessary
· Strong team player and able to work with documentation management to establish goals and priorities
· Ability to learn new technologies quickly
· Bachelor's degree in a technical or communications field
Preferred Qualifications
· Hands-on experience with image editing and diagramming software, such as Photoshop and Visio

What You Will Do

Coach and educate a set of customers on implementation and usage best practices to ensure smooth on boarding, faster adoption, increased footprint, etc.

Ensure customers are SUCCESSFUL and DELIGHTED with Sonatype products and services, not merely satisfied.

If youve been told, you have a great bed-side manner, thats what were looking for. And while there will be some days of mostly screen-time, this is a customer-facing role. Travel is likely to be around 35-45%.
Experiences & Skills That We Are Looking For
  • Security Clearance: Top Secret required, TS/SCI preferred
  • Deep familiarity with tooling used in the SDLC including: source code version control systems (e.g., git, subversion, cvs, etc.), modern build tools (e.g., Jenkins, continuous integration systems), package managers (e.g., Maven, Gradle, Nuget, NPM, etc.), continuous delivery technologies (e.g., Puppet, Chef, Udeploy, etc.)
  • The ability to work with such tooling in order to integrate Sonatype's specific solutions into customers' application life cycles is required.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Well-honed project management and organizational skills
  • Prior consulting experience with federal/military customers in secure environments, preferablyrelated to the SDLC, will prove helpful
  • Prior development expertise and experience with tools such as Hudson/Jenkins (CI Servers) and Eclipse / other IDEs is desirable.
  • Experience working in cross functional role along side Engineering and Sales organizations is a plus.

JOB HIRING: Remote Game Writer

We are looking for writers to work on contract, delivering content for our hit mobile game “Choices: Stories You Play.” You’ll brainstorm with the team, craft characters, plots, and series concepts, and see your writing come to life in the game. Pay is hourly and based on experience.
JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
You will be working remotely with a team to deliver high-quality interactive narrative content for the game “Choices: Stories You Play” in the form of game scripts. This position involves creative writing, extensive editorial work, game testing, and collaboration.
On-site training: Writers will come to our Mountain View office for 3 months of creative and technical training.
REQUIREMENTS
Our ideal candidate creates stories with interesting characters and compelling narratives, is able to follow the established style and tone of our games, and can write from a variety of perspectives. Additionally, candidates should be able to accept and incorporate feedback, adapt writing to meet requirements, and consistently meet deadlines. Excellent copywriting and editing skills are a must.
This is an external contractor position, not full-time employment. The work will be done remotely, off-site. There will typically be between 40 to 50 hours of work each week. Overtime rates will apply over 40 hours per week. You will be expected to frequently attend video conference calls for brainstorming, training, and weekly writer syncs. Pay is competitive.
